Standing at 3,600 feet the imposing El Capitain
is one of the largest lumps of exposed granite in the world.
Climbers from all over the world descend on the
valley to conquer the 'Big Wall'. The record for the quickest climb
is 13 hours, but a typical climber spends three days ascending the
wall. At night you can see lonely pin pricks of lights shining as
the climbers strap themselves in for the night. During the day,
they are almost invisible to the naked eye.
